We are pleased to introduce the Heart Homes Initiative to further our reach to organizations that help individuals move from homelessness to homes.

Designs for Dignity works with several area non-profit organizations annually to provide pro bono interior design services creating environments that reflect dignity, respect and comfort for those in need.

As part of our programmatic reach we are initiating the Heart Homes Initiative, founded by board member Diane Falanga, to offer design services to individuals that are utilizing services from one of our many non-profit partners. Our goal is to provide quality donated furnishings and design services to those in need with the help of volunteer designers and product donations from designer’s clients’ homes.

The Heart Homes Initiative Committee reviews applications for services on a regular basis. We are targeting donations from designers working with clients in hopes to reuse items in great condition that need a new home through the Heart Homes Initiative. With these donations, Heart Homes volunteer designers will transform these living spaces into homes. It is important to Designs for Dignity and the Heart Homes Initiative Committee that transformation takes place within these homes for the individuals and their families.

As a design organization, we have a strong commitment to sustainability (i.e., reusing gently used furniture/finishes) as well as advocacy (i.e, soliciting new furniture/finish donations from manufacturers and showrooms).

The main goal of the Heart Homes Initiative is to transform residential spaces by offering pro bono design services to non-profit organizations that serve at-risk and marginalized populations. 

Through our advocacy efforts on behalf of our non-profit grant recipients as well as our commitment to sustainability, we are able to provide new and gently used furniture and finish donations for our projects.
